This summer Maryland Deckworks Inc. was privileged to work with an amazing couple in Baltimore that wanted a multi-level deck as an extended living area without removing a beloved tree that has giving them shade for more than two decades.

Maryland Deckworks, Inc. created a multi-level wood deck that tied into an existing deck that allowed ingress and egress for the family and their favorite companion, the family dog Snooky.

Snooky was at a pet store while a local animal rescue organization was onsite with numerous strays that were in need of finding a good home. He was adopted onsite by these animal loving clients with no regrets. You’ll see in the pictures posted that “Snooky” (notice his eyes) was on point making sure the job was done to his parents liking.

While working around the root system of the existing tree to preserve the tree’s health, many changes were made to the deck project to accommodate the owner’s wants and needs.

Check out the Columbia Maryland screened enclosure project we did. Our client in Columbia, Maryland desired an outdoor space where they could relax and enjoy their scenic backyard.  

Maryland Deckworks, Inc. created a screened enclosure onto this Columbia, Maryland home which allowed the client a large covered space to relax and dine in the outdoors. The Enclosure is maintenance free interior and exterior.

The exposed rafters with grooved sheathing give the rustic look of a traditional wood screen porch without the maintenance. The flooring/decking is Trex Select and the railings are white vinyl with black aluminum spindles. The 36′ railing gives all the safety needed with children and pets without the obstruction of view, since the black balusters blend in with the landscape.

The optional skylights offer light into the enclosure area that would have been taken away from the new porch roof line. This enclosure project lets our Columbia client enjoy the best of both worlds, by being outside in the shade with the expansion of the deck area being covered and screened in for more usability.
